MANUEL OCAMPO

Manuel Ocampo was born in the Philippines where he continues to live and work. He studied fine arts at the University of the Philippines and later studied at the California State University. Ocampo has exhibited extensively for over 15 years with solo exhibitions at galleries and institutions through Europe, Asia, and the Americas and his work is held in numorous public and private collections worldwide. He was the subject of a survey exhibition at Casa Asia in Barcelona, and Lieu d’Art Contemporain, Sigean, France in 2005.

Whilst in residence, Manuel Ocampo devised his 2009 Gertrude exhibition, She Has A Hot Ass: The Demystification of Art and its incorporation into the Practice of Everyday Life Could Only be Achieved Through the Deliberate Lowering of Standards - a series of new  works to be exhibited throughout 2009 and 2010.
