ENTANG WIHARSO (INDONESIA)

Entang Wiharso divides his time between the United States and Indonesia. His paintings and installations combine personal, Western and Indonesian mythologies and cast a critical eye on international politics, environmental issues and cultural stereotypes and prejudices. Wiharso studied Painting at the Fine Art Department of the Indonesian Institute of Arts, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. His extensive exhibition history includes: Entang Wiharso, Artnews Projects, Berlin, 2012; Second Skin: Peeling Back the Layers, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo, Michigan, 2011; Love Me Or Die, Primo Marella Gallery, Milan, 2011 and Sublime Tunnel, CP Foundation, Jakarta, 2004.
