Having developed their collaboration since 2009, David Brazier and Kelda Free are recognised as having a critical, context-specific practice. In 2013–14, they taught MFA students at California College of the Arts, featured in Kunstforum International’s Urban Performance Issue (volume 223) and the book What We Want is Free: Critical Exchanges in Recent Art (Ted Purves and Shane Aslan Selzer, SUNY Press). Their practice has been supported by organisations that include Arts Council England, Arcus Japan, Khoj International Artists’ Association India, NAVA Australia and California College of the Arts. Brazier was awarded a travelling scholarship to study at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2002. He completed his MFA at Goldsmiths College in London in 2008. Free draws on experience as a landscape architect, having worked in London’s most innovative practices where she specialised in arts-based consultation for the development of unique, award-winning projects in the public realm.
