Volatile: it’s what you want. And it’s So Hot Right Now. Lyndal Walker’s first Studio 12 exhibition converted the space into a showroom for Volatile, So Hot Right Now. It’s success is imminent, but somehow you know it’s just not going to last. Playfully reworking the conventions of consumerism, stenciling, fashion photography and branding, Walker presented a very contemporary meditation on consumption, mortality and our all-consuming need to fulfill our desires - and find new ones - before our time runs out. Lyndal Walker is an artist whose photographs and installations deal with issues including transience, consumerism, style, personal identity, youth and beauty. She has exhibited widely at venues including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney; the Ian Potter Museum, Melbourne; The Armoury Art Fair, New York and La Panaderia, Mexico City. She was a founding member of both Citylights and 1st Floor Artist Run Gallery.
