STUDIO 12 | ANITA KOCSIS: NEONVERTE

Studio 12 Exhibition

Anita Kocsis’ Neonverte was a web based art project presented as a video projection in Studio 12. Neonverte was built as a ‘garden’ which was ‘tended’ by the artist during the exhibition period. Each visit to Anita’s web garden offered a different point of entry. Sometimes a neon evergreen, sometimes a fluorescent terrarium, and other times a thorny K-Mart meets Las Vegas undergrowth. Neonverte was dependant on forces of electronic nature. Neonverte was part of ‘Login: immersive residences for artists in mid-take off’, an initiative of the Australian Network for Art and Technology, realized with assistance of 200 Gertrude Street. The project was supported by the Australian Council, the federal government’s art funding and advisory body.
