DARSHANA VORA

Front gallery

Supported By Arts Victoria and UNESCO

UNESCO/ASCHBERG Bursary Laureate.

Mumbai-based Darshana Vora, presented an intriguing and absurd installation of elongated planes or blades of wood extending from the gallery floor. Inviting curiosity as to their purpose, as well as physical interaction through climbing/bouncing, Vora’s objects rested between architecture and landscape, at once functional and sculptural, and implicitly reflected upon the form of the shaft or blade recurrent in public architecture and urban planning.
