Daniel Taylor’s installation of printed fabric paintings and sculpture were made with the assistance of text-recognition software misinterpreting the artist’s handwriting. Continuing the artist’s interest in the interrelationships between the body and technology, and akin to the visual and aural traditions of concrete poetry, Taylor’s works subtly commented upon the ways in which one’s desire to communicate might be thwarted by social and technological protocols.
