SIMONE LEAMON

Recognised for developing conceptually rich perimeters for design and one-off exhibition works Simone LeAmon is an artist-designer blurring the lines between cultural and commercial production.

Simone completed studies in sculpture at Victorian College of the Arts in 1993 staging numerous solo exhibitions in Australia and Italy in the ensuing years. Between 1999-2003 Simone was a founding partner in n+1 equals interdisciplinary studio in Melbourne. Following a studio residency at Viafarini, Milan in 2001 Simone commenced studies in industrial design at RMIT University receiving a master of design in 2004. Simone's inclusion in the 2007 publication &Fork by Phaidon Press, U.K identified her as one of the most exciting up-and-coming designers. In 2009 LeAmon was the recipient of one of the most coveted accolades in Australian design - the Cecily and Colin Rigg Contemporary Design Award presented by the National Gallery of Victoria.
