This is the catalogue of the exhibition 40 Degrees which was presented at Gertrude Contemporary in 2007. The exhibition dwelt on the madness of summer in the city, when leisure goes awry and interior worlds boil to the surface. Featuring work in a variety of media this exhibition dusted off our secrets turning our squinting faces to the sun, drawing on aspects of ‘mango madness’, pathological suburbia, bushfire romance and summer shame.
