SEAN LOUGHREY

Sean Loughrey has been actively involved with the artist run initiative/collective ‘Ocular Lab’ since 2001. He has also been involved in exhibitions and collaborative projects for artist-run spaces and publicly funded galleries since 1988. He has held individual exhibitions at 1st Floor Artists' and Writers' Space, Melbourne in 2001, “Struck” and 1999, “Spaces and Places”. Sean has been involved in various collaborative projects including “Fanflag” with Raafat Ishak at Stripp Gallery; 1997, 1st Floor; 1998 and Ocular Lab in 2001, and Office of Utopic Procedures with Bernhard Sachs, Tom Nicholson and Vera Moller at Westspace in 2001. Sean also worked with the American artist Fred Wilson on “Mining the Museum” at the Ian Potter Gallery, University of Melbourne in 1998 Seans work has been represented in numerous group exhibitions including; Ocular Lab 12; Ocular Lab group projects, Landscape, 1st Floor, Melbourne 2002; Blink — Dreaming at Twilight, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne 2000; Pile on, The Bridge — Construction in Process IV, 187 Collins Street, Melbourne 1998. Most recent shows include; Speed Space, Ocular Lab 2005, Animal Instincts, Conical Gallery, Melbourne and Landscape: The Suitcase Series, BAU International, Shanghai in 2004.
