DANAE VALENZA
–
Danae Valenza works and lives in Melbourne. She is an interdisciplinary artist with a strong interest in music and collaboration. In her ‘phono-social’ experiments, Valenza works with musicians, performers, technicians and composers, producing works with a dynamic ‘visual musicality’, which are also informed by the history of music and the visual arts.
Danae graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts (First Class Honours) from Monash University. Previously, Danae has been awarded The Ian Potter Travelling Scholarship, JUMP Mentorship Grant (2013), ArtStart Grant from the Australia Council of the Arts and a city of Melbourne Docklands Grant (2012). In 2015, she will undertake an studio residency at Suomenlinna Studio, Helsinki.
