STUDIO 12 | PAUL KNIGHT: UNTITLED PORTRAIT (AS PROPOSITION)

Untitled Portrait (as proposition) was an exploration of the portrait: not the personalised portrait of a specific human being, but a picture of one of those forces that lie in the mind, behind the human face. The exhibition space was divided into two spatial and linguistic elements: in the first space, there was a large photograph of a garden and in the second space, a line of wall text. Untitled Portrait (as proposition) investigated the photograph’s ability to act as a median to the psychological structure of the human: a look at the build of psychological space, how it emulates the environment and becomes the soil for impetus.
