A Melbourne International Biennial Collaborating Country Project
Curated by Bo Wallstrom and Jorn Mortensen
In association with the Melbourne International Biennial, 200 Gertrude Street presented the Norwegian Pavilion, featuring the work of Knut Åsdam. Commissioned by guest curator Bo Wallstrom and Jorn Mortensen from UKS in Oslo, Åsdam’s work comprised two parts – an architectural / audio installation, and a video projection space. In the first case, a long tunnel (reminiscent of sci-fi psychodrama) directed the visitor to three sound booths or cubicles in which psychological narratives were cast into the symbolic space of night or sex club architecture which also afforded a view onto the street.
