Guy Benfield’s Ode to the Superquick inverted the conventions of the well-polished drawing. Beginning with images gleaned from fashion magazines, heavy and death metal culture, Benfield worked in reverse, stripping back the glossy images with a barrage of artistic practices from collage and drawings to performance.
