BIANCA HESTER: OBJECT: TRANSLATION

Front gallery

Presented as an architectural/ecological installation, and as a philosophical model for public sculpture, Bianca Hester’s Object: Translation encompassed a cornucopia of material fragments and curiously shaped objects — faceted erasers, moulded plastic, extruded blue goo, cardboard, mdf, styrofoam, paper, laminate, among others — which were variously subject to a range of methodologies and processes — folding, unfolding, accumulation, flipping, propping, forming, deforming … — in order to construct and explore real and fictional relationships that might exist between forms, objects, images, texts and communities.
