HEITONG: FAST FOOD CHRISTMAS SPECIALS

Vera Möller observes the culture of fine art and architecture with the eye and mind of a research scientist. Birdhouse could be similarly described as a hybrid of painting and soft-sculpture, experimental couture and critical theory. A hanging knitted construction - based on the infamous design for a town house by Adolf Loos for dancer and cabaret star Josephine Baker -invited comparisons between the skin of an animal and the body of the dancer, and the power relationship between the observer and the observed. Vera Möller originally trained as a biologist before attending art school, consequently her paintings, performance projects and installations combined aspects of both disciplines.
